Assessment of AI in hospital processes, ethics and data preprocessing

A research initiative funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, directed at the validation and integration of artificial intelligence systems in real hospital settings.

The project addresses regulatory compliance — GDPR and the Medical Devices Regulation — and ethical governance: bias mitigation, explainability and accountability for the automated decision.

An in-house machine learning system was designed and implemented, focused on the preprocessing, validation and qualitative filtering phase of the data before ingestion into the training pipelines, to optimise the robustness and reliability of predictive tools in the care setting.
